Joyce Faulkner's interests are varied.  She began writing in the eigth grade, in the ninth grade
she won her first award, in high school she published her first article. She studied writing at the
University of Arkansas in the mid 1960s, engineering science in the mid 1970s and acquired a
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in the early 1980,
and an MBA from Cleveland State in the early 1990s. She worked in a variety of industries
including Steel and Oil and Gas.  She participated in the early years when the Internet transited
from an Academic and Military tool to a commercial one. When she left Consolidated Natural
Gas, she was the Director of eCommerce.  Throughout those years, she published feature
articles for trade magazines and was a columnist for
Ag Pilot International.  Her books cover a
wide range of topics...from
Losing Patience, an award-winning collection of short stories, to In
the Shadow of Suribachi,
which recieved the Military Writers Society of America 2006 Gold
Medal for Historical Fiction, to
For Shrieking Out Loud, which is a collection of humorous
essays, to non-fiction historical books like
The Sunchon Tunnel Massacre Survivors.  She
collaborates with other authors and often ghostwrites books for veterans and other historical
topics.  She speaks on a variety of topics -- from little known historical events to writing tips for
new authors to humor.  Joyce lives in Pittsburgh, PA.
